Date: 2007 – 2009

Events: A Series of facilitated days where leaders from 12 RFOs and other arts organizations came together and worked as a group with The MAP. Ongoing work by MAP practitioners placed in each of the organizations to provoke, challenge and inspire change through creative learning practice.

Match: A pioneering initiative looking at creative learning as both an internal and external resource for the growth and development of organizations and their work with new audiences. Arts Council East and Creative Partnerships wanted to explore and develop the transference of the professional development outcomes inspired by The Map’s work with individual artists to organizations in the region. Developing and working with our enquiry-led methodology and practice and placing artists cross-discipline with organizations (e.g. A choreographer/dancer with The Poetry Trust, an Actor with the Gallery Kettle’s Yard etc) we were able investigate the potential of creativity as a catalyst for change and new work and support the emergence of new policy and practice for each organization.

Outcomes: ‘Evolve was really worth doing with genuine long term impact on the way we deliver and the way we support other people to understand why creativity is important.’ CEO ADEC (click link to appendix report)
