Aston University: Intercultural Working

Date: Ongoing since Autumn 2007

Events: 3 years of input into business school undergraduate programme, 2 years of input into MBA and internal lecturers development programme.

The Match: Pro-vice Chancellor Professor Helen Higson had the vision to see how the arts could offer distinctive ways in to developing awareness and skills for effective intercultural working. Drawing on a range of arts processes and channels for communication has enabled us to design powerful processes and toolkits that ensure that intercultural working is seen by staff and students as a rich resource for learning rather than a barrier. Working across all levels of the university has enabled us to contribute to the vision and potential for Professor Higson’s university-wide strategy on intercultural working.
